Motion to Scottish Parliament: Older People’s Food Summit

*S3M-3418 Jamie Hepburn: Older People’s Food Summit—That the Parliament notes the UK-wide Older People’s Food Summit that takes place at the National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff, on 18 March 2009; supports the aims of the summit to contribute to a UK-wide dialogue about nutrition and the wider issue of social exclusion in a rapidly ageing population and to directly encourage older people to take part in grass root initiatives that promote healthy eating; welcomes the summit’s focus on all levels of government across the United Kingdom, and encourages the Scottish Government to take account of the nutritional requirements of an ageing population in its forthcoming food strategy.
